Why drive in Montenegro
Montenegros dramatic coast and mountains are best discovered by car, following the Bay of Kotor from Herceg Novi to Kotor and on to Budva. You can stop at viewpoints, small beaches and old towns whenever you choose.
A hire car also opens up Durmitor National Park, the Tara River canyon and the serpentine road to Lovcen from Cetinje. With your own wheels it is easy to mix lakes like Skadar, alpine hikes and seaside evenings without strict schedules.

In Montenegro, the same traffic regulations as in the rest of Europe are in force. Therefore, a car renter is unlikely to face any problems. However, it is necessary to be aware of a few particular rules:
- Child seats
If you book a car for your family in Montenegro and are going to carry children under 3 years of age, be sure to inform the specialists at the application stage. According to Montenegrin legislation, children under three can only be carried in special child seats.
