Mount Pleasant car rental — FAQ
We recommend booking as early as possible in Mount Pleasant. Prices usually rise closer to the pick-up date, especially in peak seasons and on weekends. Advance booking gives you a better choice of car classes, automatic transmission, and supplier options. Last-minute rentals may be limited or more expensive, particularly at airports and popular downtown locations.
The deposit is usually released within a few days after drop-off in Mount Pleasant. The exact timing depends on your bank and card provider; most unblock the amount within 3-14 business days. Any traffic fines, damage, or missing fuel may delay or reduce the refunded sum, according to the supplier's terms.
The excess, or deductible, is the maximum amount you pay if the car is damaged or stolen in Mount Pleasant. The rental company covers costs above this limit. Excess levels vary by car class and supplier; you can often reduce or waive it by purchasing additional insurance or full coverage before pick-up.
Some suppliers in Mount Pleasant accept debit cards, but conditions apply. You may need proof of return travel, higher deposit, or extra insurance. Availability of no-deposit / no-credit-card deals is limited and depends on the location, car category, and your age and driving history.
Average daily prices in Mount Pleasant depend on season, demand, and car type. Economy cars are usually cheapest, while SUVs, vans, and automatics cost more. The total includes base rate, taxes, mandatory fees, and any extras you choose, like GPS, child seats, or additional drivers. Early booking often secures lower prices.

Returning the car late in Mount Pleasant may result in extra charges. Many companies allow a short grace period, but beyond that they can charge additional hours or a full extra rental day. If you expect to be late, contact the rental office as soon as possible to discuss options and minimize potential penalties.

What drivers say about Mount Pleasant
★★★★★★4.5
★★★★★★3.5
"We rented a car for a weekend with friends and the price was fair, car drove fine and was economical. However, the outside hadn’t been washed properly and we had to wait a while at pickup. Staff were polite though, and the return process was easy. Mixed, but not bad."

"We rented a car for a friends’ road trip and the vehicle itself was fine: clean, reliable, and roomy enough for all our bags. The one frustration was the waiting time at pickup and vague instructions about where to go, which made the start of our journey more stressful than it needed to be."
