New Braunfels car rental — FAQ
We recommend booking as early as possible in New Braunfels. Prices usually rise closer to the pick-up date, especially in peak seasons and on weekends. Advance booking gives you a better choice of car classes, automatic transmission, and supplier options. Last-minute rentals may be limited or more expensive, particularly at airports and popular downtown locations.
The deposit is usually released within a few days after drop-off in New Braunfels. The exact timing depends on your bank and card provider; most unblock the amount within 3-14 business days. Any traffic fines, damage, or missing fuel may delay or reduce the refunded sum, according to the supplier's terms.
The excess, or deductible, is the maximum amount you pay if the car is damaged or stolen in New Braunfels. The rental company covers costs above this limit. Excess levels vary by car class and supplier; you can often reduce or waive it by purchasing additional insurance or full coverage before pick-up.
Some suppliers in New Braunfels accept debit cards, but conditions apply. You may need proof of return travel, higher deposit, or extra insurance. Availability of no-deposit / no-credit-card deals is limited and depends on the location, car category, and your age and driving history.
Average daily prices in New Braunfels depend on season, demand, and car type. Economy cars are usually cheapest, while SUVs, vans, and automatics cost more. The total includes base rate, taxes, mandatory fees, and any extras you choose, like GPS, child seats, or additional drivers. Early booking often secures lower prices.
Bookingcar compares multiple suppliers in New Braunfels in one search. You can filter by price, rating, fuel policy, and mileage, then book instantly with secure payment. Transparent conditions, 24/7 support, and clear voucher instructions help you avoid surprises at the counter and make it easier to manage or modify your reservation.
Returning the car late in New Braunfels may result in extra charges. Many companies allow a short grace period, but beyond that they can charge additional hours or a full extra rental day. If you expect to be late, contact the rental office as soon as possible to discuss options and minimize potential penalties.
Cross-border travel is often restricted and must be approved in advance. When booking in New Braunfels, check the supplier's terms for allowed countries, extra insurance, and border-crossing fees. Unauthorized international travel can void coverage and lead to serious penalties, so always list your intended routes before confirming.
Speed limits are set by each state, but typical maximum limits are:
Interstate highways: 65–75 mph (105–120 km/h), up to 80 mph (129 km/h) in a few states
Always follow posted signs, as limits change frequently.

"We booked a car for our family holiday with two young kids. The vehicle was comfortable, clean, and the child seats were properly fitted, which was reassuring. The only slight downside was a short wait at the counter because of a busy queue, but staff stayed friendly and helpful throughout."

"We rented a car for a weekend with friends and the price was fair, car drove fine and was economical. However, the outside hadn’t been washed properly and we had to wait a while at pickup. Staff were polite though, and the return process was easy. Mixed, but not bad."

"I travelled with a friend and booked online with brand:bookingcar. The confirmation came through instantly and we could easily review all terms before paying. At the desk, staff were friendly, didn’t push extras, and upgraded us to a slightly larger car at no cost."
