ナミビアで でドライブしたい理由

Drive from ウィントフック to Sossusvlei for sunrise over the red dunes, then on to スワコプムンド along vast desert roads. With your own car, you can stop for photos at remote viewpoints few tours linger at.

Continue north to Etosha National Park or south to the Fish River Canyon. Distances are long and public transport limited, so a rental gives you the freedom to plan early starts and quiet sunset stops.

ナミビアで のレンタル — FAQ

For travel in Namibia it is wise to book at least 4-8 weeks in advance, especially for trips between June and October or over Christmas and Easter. Popular 4x4s and vehicles with camping equipment often sell out months ahead. Booking early usually means better choice, lower prices and more flexible pick-up locations, particularly in Windhoek and around major national parks.
The security deposit is normally held on your card when you collect the car and released once the vehicle is returned and checked. In Namibia this usually takes 3-10 working days, depending on your bank. Some cards show it as a pending transaction. If any damage, fines or fuel charges apply, the rental company may deduct these before releasing the remaining amount.
The excess (deductible) is the maximum amount you must pay towards damage or theft before the rental company’s insurance covers the rest. In Namibia, typical excesses range from about NAD 7,000 to NAD 35,000, often higher for 4x4s. You can usually reduce this to a much smaller sum, or even to zero, by purchasing additional insurance or excess waiver cover when booking.
Most Namibian rental companies prefer a major credit card for the deposit, but some accept debit cards or cash, especially for local renters. On Bookingcar you may find occasional no-deposit, no-credit-card offers with selected partners. These often have stricter driver requirements, mileage rules or higher daily rates, so always check the payment and deposit conditions before confirming.
Prices vary by season, vehicle and location. As a general guide, a small car in Namibia typically costs around NAD 700-1,200 per day, while 4x4s often range from NAD 1,400-2,800 per day, especially in high season. Extras such as camping gear, cross-border fees, additional drivers and GPS units can increase the total cost of your rental.
Bookingcar lets you compare prices from multiple car hire companies in Namibia in one place, so you can quickly see which offers give the best value for your dates. By viewing different vehicle types, fuel policies and mileage limits side by side, you can choose the option that fits your budget. Our price-comparison service helps you avoid overpaying for the same or similar cars.
If you return your car late in Namibia, rental firms usually charge an extra fee, often a full additional day after a short grace period (commonly 29-59 minutes, but it varies). Extended delays may be treated as an unauthorised extension and billed at higher rates. Late return can also affect insurance coverage, so always contact the rental office beforehand if you expect to be delayed.
  • Urban areas (towns and cities): usually 60 km/h
  • Tarred rural roads: generally 100 km/h
  • National highways (main tarred routes): up to 120 km/h, where signposted
  • Gravel roads: commonly 80 km/h, but you should often drive slower for safety
  • Inside national parks or conservancies: usually 30-60 km/h, always check local signs
Traffic fines in Namibia are typically paid on the spot or later at a police station or court. Common offences like speeding, using a mobile phone while driving or not wearing seatbelts attract fines that can easily exceed NAD 500-2,000, depending on severity. Serious offences such as reckless driving or drunk driving can lead to very high fines, licence suspension or imprisonment.
Namibia has strict drink-driving rules. The general legal limit is 0.05% blood alcohol concentration (0.5 g/l), equivalent to about 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. For many drivers even a small amount of alcohol can exceed this, especially on long, hot journeys. Police run breathalyser checks, and exceeding the limit can result in heavy fines, court appearances and possible jail time.
Fuel prices in Namibia are government regulated and change from time to time. As a recent guideline, petrol and diesel often fall roughly in the range of NAD 20-25 per litre, depending on the region and product. Rural stations may have similar prices but fewer pumps and shorter opening hours, so plan ahead and refuel whenever you pass through larger towns or service areas.
There are currently no toll roads in Namibia and no motorway vignettes to buy. You can drive on national highways and most main roads without paying per-use charges. Some private reserves, national parks and attractions may charge separate entrance or conservation fees, which are unrelated to road tolls and must be paid at the gate or visitor reception when you enter those areas.
